HOUSTON LABOR DAY CLASSIC ELITE WEEKEND SPORTS PACKAGES NOW AVAILABLE

THG Agency, a Houston-based and well-respected sports event consulting and management company in partnership with D. G. Sports and Entertainment, are pleased to announce the 2009 Houston Labor Day Classic Elite Weekend Sports Packages. The packages, which are designed around the annual Labor Day Classic Football weekend featuring Texas Southern and Prairie A&M Universities, offers fans an opportunity to experience a luxurious but affordable weekend at one of the biggest sporting events of the year in the city of Houston, Texas.

"It's important to our institutions that we grow this Black College Football Classic," said THG President & CEO J. Kenyatta Cavil. "Our customers that support both institutions have suggested to us that they want The Labor Day Classic to mirror some of the other high-profile classics around the country. As a result, we decided to provide hospitality and events in conjunction with the game to further enhance and support „"The Battle of the Bands" and "The Game on the Field".

This year's classic marks the 26th year Prairie View and Texas Southern square off on the gridiron on Labor Day weekend. Held at Reliant Stadium beginning at 4 p.m. on September 5th, this year's edition of the classic is a must-see affair as rivalries are at an all-time high due to the arrival of a new coach in alumnus Johnnie Cole and a former local high school star quarterback in Bobby Reid at Texas Southern. In addition, Texas Southern also boasts several former key Prairie View A&M staff members, including Athletics Director Charles McClelland, who are sliding into their second year at their still fairly new home in Houston. On the opposite sideline, Prairie View A&M enters the 65th meeting between both schools with high expectations as the Panthers are coming off their best season since 1976 under sixth-year head coach Henry Frazier III

"We spent a lot of time putting together our own packages for our alums. We were looking for a great mixture and the perfect formula to our alums to meet and mingle while supporting our athletic programs," said former Texas Southern University National Alumni Association, Inc. (TSUNAA) President Chris LeBlanc. "I believe this partnership will serve our TSU alumni base well."

Hats off to our Donor of the Year, Mr. Rob Wright and Trendsetters, Inc.

Two years ago, Mr. Wright partnered with HoustonLaborDayClassic.Com and PVAMU's National Alumni Association's Houston Chapter to host one of the most fabulous day parties in the city of Houston. Rob Wright gave an undisclosed amount of the proceeds to the PVAMU Houston Alumni Chapter.  Thanks Rob for believing in the "Panthers".
